More recently, this has been done under the banner of the SPARK programme, as these films attract a significantly younger audience than would be typical for events branded J&amp;P.<br><br>The LPFF committee have decided to support a proposed International Film Festival for Women\u2019s cinema \u2013 to take place in Gaza! They write:<br><br><blockquote>\u201cThe festival organisers are defying the ongoing genocide with the strongest weapon they have \u2013 keeping Palestinian cultural expression alive, and especially the voices of women. They have already begun recruiting women to be trained to make films that will be showcased at their Festival this October.\u201d<br><br><\/blockquote>The Film festival committee have pledged to raise \u00a310,000 towards the cost of the festival in Gaza.
